About This Artwork
This painting is one in series of Rwandan street-selling women, known as abazunguzayi, who walk long distances every day to support their families. Their strength, dignity, and quiet hope moved me to paint it. Through my art and my mission, a portion of each sale helps support these mothers in finding stable market stalls for a better future.
I use acrylic paint on canvas with smooth, solid-color backgrounds that highlight a single, detailed figure. Each color is chosen to reflect emotion and environment, while the small, realistic image on one side of the canvas emphasizes simplicity, focus, and dignity.

Story Behind
I’m inspired by the resilience of women selling on the streets, their determination to provide for their children and their courage to keep going. Painting them allows me to honor their stories and contribute to my mission of giving back to vulnerable mothers in my community.
