About This Artwork
I was inspired by men I saw on Rwanda’s hilly roads, riding bicycles and holding onto passing trucks to reach home. Even without words, their strength and courage told powerful stories of survival and hope.
I used acrylic on canvas with a smooth, solid background. I focus on detailed, realistic figures and soft side shadows to show movement and effort, leaving open space to draw attention to their journey.
